Tangerine honey is produced in Calabria, predominantly in the Sibari plain where, alongside vast expanses of orange groves, one can also find clementine cultivations that are extensive enough to allow a harvest of unifloral tangerine honey. This honey is light in color with shades ranging from very faint yellow to ivory white when solid. It crystallizes rapidly, taking on a naturally creamy consistency that is highly appreciated by the palate. The aroma is delicate and fresh, and the taste is fruity and floral. Analytically, is difficult to differentiate the pollen granule of mandarin from that of orange and other citrus fruits. From the organoleptic point of view, these honeys are also very similar. For this reason, the only possible distinction comes from the area of production. Probably the only area where a pure mandarin honey can be produced is the Sibari Plain where the cultivation of clementines is particularly widespread. Smell: Fresh, floral, hawthorn, melon-like. Taste: Delicate and floral, with fruity notes reminiscent of exotic fruits.
